I am an adult third culture kid.

South Asian by birth, I lived in semi-rural West Africa from the age of five until twelve. Then I returned to my birth country where I survived (reverse) culture shock, teenage years, and high school, before migrating to Australia. See the post “How I became a Third Culture Kid” for a little more on this.

I am married to another adult third culture kid.

One of my earliest loves has been reading. Growing up in West Africa carried isolation with it, so books made up my world. It has been a small step from there to wanting to write.

My hope is that my experiences help others – third culture kids or otherwise – realize they are not alone in their own experiences of transition, isolation, and loss.

  1. Hi, my name is Tina Quick and I am author of, “The Global Nomad’s Guide to University Transition,” the first and only guide book for TCKs making the transition to college / university. I love your website. It is professional and information packed. I was wondering if you would consider posting my website under your ‘Networks and Resources for TCKs.’
    My site is http://internationalfamilytransitions.com

If you would be so inclined, I also have a book preview site which gives a very in-depth look at what my book entails so people can look before deciding to buy:

Thank you for considering my request.
All the best to you in your valuable work.
    Kind regards,
    Tina Quick

  2. Hi Tina,
Thanks for these details – love your site, and have added it under ‘Networks & Resources’ and have just downloaded your book on Kindle!
Take care, and keep up the awesome work,
    Susie (TCKMusing)
